Romans 4:21 He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises.
We say that we believe what the Bible says. We claim that we believe that God is truthful and does not lie. We say that we believe that Jesus is the sacrifice for our sins but are we fully convinced it is so? When you have had a bad week and fell into temptations, had a bad attitude, and told a lie, how do you feel? Are you just as joyful as you were the week before? Do you think that God still sees you as he did the week before? For many of us the answer may be no because we have not yet became fully convinced that God’s word is true for us too. We somehow think that the word doesn’t apply to us because we have so much sin. But that is a lie from the enemy and we have to stand against it.
God knew all about you and He still chose you (Jeremiah 1:5). He knew everything you would ever think, do, and say and He still chooses to love you. He has called you to himself and he has good plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11). And he has done all of this through Christ Jesus ( 2 Corinthians 5:21 Amp & Colossians 1:22). But do you truly believe that these promises are true for you too even when you have been at your worst?
Abraham chose to fully believe in what God had told him eventhough in the natural it was impossible. He was almost 100 yrs old and Sarah was long pass child barring age but because God said that he would be the father of many nations he believed that they would have a child. He was fully convinced that it would happen and so it did. And that’s the kind of belief that we have to have as well. Although everyone on earth may not accept or love us, God does. No one else may think that we are special but God does. Everyone that we know may turn their backs on us because of something we have done but God never will. And we may have never experienced unconditional love from anyone on earth but God has that kind of love for us. But if we are not fully convinced that it is so then our faith in his promises may be shipwrecked by a situation, someone, lies from the enemy, or our own lack of trust.
We have to be fully convinced, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God always speaks the truth and will never take back a promise that he has made. If God said it then it is so, even if we don’t understand the how or why of it. Eventhough we may have been lied to, disappointed, let down, or hurt by people, God is different. He will never lie to or disappoint us. We can fully expect what he has said to come to pass for us. And when we are full of faith, fully convinced, that God’s word is true and for us too we will be filled with joy and hope. Decide today to put your full trust in God and be fully convinced that His promises are for you.
