When we are born again we have tiny seeds of all that God is planted in our inner most being (our heart). We have all that we need to live a purposeful, fulfilled, amazing life. It is the beginning of our journey of growth. I have found that the best way to walk this journey is to ask the Lord each day what He wanted me to do for him that day. See nothing can make us happy until we are happy with ourselves. And the only way to be completely happy with ourselves is to let the Lord work in and through us. He knows what needs to be changed in us and what will make us fulfilled and satisfied. So following his direction is the best thing that we can do.

One of the ways that God changes us is by giving us the desires that represent integrity. Being a person with integrity is being a person with good moral standards. It is doing things right and honorable. It is being a trustworthy person. It is not being selfish. It is treating others kindly and lovingly. It is thinking of how your actions or lack of actions would affect others and adjusting your actions accordingly. It is having the heart of Jesus guiding you.

When we live with integrity we feel good about ourselves because we know that we are doing the best that we can and know to do. We don’t have regrets or guilt and shame consuming us from wrong actions or could have, should haves. We have feelings of accomplishment because we do what we need to do. We are at peace with ourselves because we are living the best that we know how. We are satisfied with ourselves because we are living up to the potential that God has placed in us. Living with integrity is doing what’s right just because it is the right thing to do.

Living with integrity isn’t always easy. It is being wronged and not taking revenge. Sometimes it is doing something that we don’t want or feel like doing. Sometimes it is being kind to someone that is being mean or hateful. Sometimes it is doing the right thing without getting a right result. But at the end of the day we will always be at piece with ourselves and be able to sleep well at night because we live by integrity, being who God created us to be.

We are on a road to integrity the moment that we are born again and it is a lifestyle change that we have to adjust to. The seed of integrity has been planted in us and God wants to see it come to full bloom. It is the way to be true to who we were created to be and showing the character of God through our actions. We reap lots of blessings and favor when we choose to live by integrity, therefore we can never go wrong.

As it is with any change that we make it takes time to adjust and get into the flow of being different than what we have been. Be patient with yourself and know that God is being patient with you. Everytime that we choose to act with integrity we are strengthening our Spirit and our old way of being dies a little more until we are no longer who we use to be and all that we were created to be.
