Hey you…. yes… YOU….. that’s right, I am talking to you. Did you know that God loves you? Did you know that He accepts you just as you are right now in this moment? Did you know that He thinks about you all the time? Did you know that He believes in you? Did you know that He wants to have a close personal relationship with you right now no matter what kind of lifestyle you are currently living? God likes to meet us right where we are, no matter where we are, and begin the walk of life with us. He doesn’t want you all cleaned up and strong. He wants you while you are down, dirty, broken, and weak. It is in our weaknesses that His strength and power can be shown (2Corinthians 12:10).
I use to feel like God would not approve of me because of the way that I was living so I never tried to have a relationship with him. I was saved at age 14 but I did not have a relationship with God. I felt that I would be disrespecting Him if I tried to call myself a Christian because I knew that I was not living a Godly life. I felt like I needed to be cleaned all up before I claimed to be a Christian. I was controlled by the world and my sinful nature. And to be honest I didn’t try to do any better because I thought that I had messed my opportunity up from when I was saved at age 14. I had got to a dark place in life with no hope of a better future but that is where He needed me to be so that He could reveal Himself and His to me.
God helped me to get to know Him by reading His word and giving me understanding of His word. He showed me that even though I was a mess, He still loved me the same. He showed me that in my weakness and despair is when He can work His best works. He showed me that even though I had lived a selfish self centered life all these years He was right there with me the whole time. Because I never stopped believing in Jesus He was always right there with me. I always believed in Jesus but I thought I had disrespected and disobeyed Him too much for Him to still accept and love me. But how wrong I was.
Sometimes we have to get to a deep and dark place before He can begin to work in us and our lives. Sometimes we have to go threw terrible things before He can build us up. Sometimes we have to get to a place that we feel all alone, with no hope at all, before there is room in our hearts for Him to make His home. But no matter what we have done, or has been done to us, He will be there for us when we are ready for Him. He will never force Himself on us but He will always be waiting for us to call out to Him.
It is hard to grasp the Love that God has for us because it is true love and a love that we rarely seen in this world, if ever. We tend to view God and His ways as what we have experienced in humans. And because of that we think that He will treat us as humans do. We think that He gets fed up with us and turns His back on us just like humans do. But we are so very wrong about that. He loves us so much and wants to have a relationship with us so much that He sent Jesus to make the way for that to be able to happen. He knows the imperfection that is in all of us and He does not hold that against us.
No matter where we come from or where we are at right this moment, He wants to be a part of our lives. No matter what we have done or what we are doing right now, He wants to have a relationship with us. No matter what we do or don’t do He is waiting to be able to show us the way that is best for us. He wants you. He loves you. And He will never turn His back His back on you. He wants you just as you are. And He wants to help you to become all that He created you to be. He is standing with His arms wide open waiting for you to embrace Him so that you can walk together into a life that is truly amazing.
