A reason to still be merry

With Christmas having to be so different than we are all used to this year, not being able to gather with family and friends, it has put a damper on many people’s spirit. I have heard so many say that it doesn’t seem like Christmas or that they are just not feeling the holiday cheer this year. I was feeling the same way at the beginning of the month but then God spoke to my heart. He reminded me what the whole point of Christmas is. It is Jesus’ birthday. It is the day to celebrate the birth of our savior. It is the day that our Lord was brought into the world.

Although we may not be able to be with family and friends, we are still able to be with the one that matters most, Jesus!! We get to spend some good quality one on one time with our Savior on His birthday and that is something to be joyful about. We can spend time reflecting on how much God loves us, to send his son to earth on this day to pay the penalty for our wrong doings and die for us. Reflect on the life that is available to us because of Jesus. Reflect on all the blessings that have been brought our way..

While it is natural for us to miss the traditions and the gatherings with loved ones, there is no reason for any of us to not still be joyful and thankful on this wonderful day. Spend the day praising your Lord and saviour with a heart full of love peace and joy. Merry Christmas to all.
