BE STILL

BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD, YOUR GOD!! Those words have been coming to mind a lot these past couple of weeks. With so much happening all at once I have found myself overwhelmed and worn down in every way possible. Waking up worried and going to sleep stressed has been my routine for almost 2wks. But a funny thing seems to happen every day when I feel like I just don’t know how much longer I can endure. The words, “Be still and know that I am the Lord your God” come flowing through my mind and the weight of the day seems to lift from my heart.

We may not be able to predict the events that happen in our lives or how things are going to work out or what the test results are going to be, but one thing that we can always, for sure, know is that the Lord is our God and he will take care of things if we wait on and trust in Him alone.

It is challenging to be still and wait when the pressure of circumstances are surrounding us. We want to know what is going to happen, we want to make things happen, we want to get it done and over with so that we have the ending results. But it just doesn’t work that way. And it is these times that our faith has a chance to grow. It is in these times that the fruits of the spirit have a chance to grow. And it is in these times that we gain strength and endurance. Even though times may be tough, hectic, chaotic, fearful, or stressful, it is a time that we can choose to be still, wait, let God work, and come out of the situation stronger, better, and more faithful.

When you feel the weight of the world crashing on your shoulders choose to be still and let God work. You can’t make things happen or change anything by worrying over it. You can’t make time speed up or make God work any faster no matter what you do. Put your trust and faith in Him alone and He will never fail you.
