power of prayer

So many times I have heard people say that their faith is wavering because it seems like God doesn’t answer their prayers. As I was watching a show this morning about this very topic it struck something in me. Just because God doesn’t answer a prayer the way that we want it or in the timing that we want it in doesn’t mean that he doesn’t answer it. I can use my own story as an example.

When I told God that I wanted out of my life situation I didn’t mean that I wanted to almost die or have life as I knew it taken from me. But He knew what it would take to get me to where I was suppose to be. He knew that I would have to be taken away from the people that I was involved with, away from my home, away from the environment, away from everything and everyone. He knew that I would have to be made to sit still and alone so that He could work in me.

I would have never asked to go through what I went through but I am so glad and thankful that I did. I would have chose the easiest and least painful way out but he knew that I wouldn’t change or grow that way so he had a different plan. I would have preferred my prayer be answered with sunshine and rainbows but the storms are what make us grow.

Just because God doesn’t answer our prayer how or when we want does not mean that he isn’t answering them. He knows what needs to be done. He knows what we really need. He knows what is best. He hears our prayer and he is faithful to answer. Just because his answer is different than what we want does not mean that he isn’t answering them. There is power in prayer. Keep praying, keep seeking, keep knocking, because he will answer.

    1. Thank you pure glory!! Yes I had no idea that praying that prayer that night would be answered the way that it was but glory to God he knew exactly what needed to be done and he comforted me the whole time and gave me this peace in my heart that I can’t describe. I knew that eventhough I was going through all that I was that somehow everything was going to be okay. I wouldn’t change a moment of any of it because I am who I am today because of all of it and most importantly I have my relationship with God and can bring glory to him through my story. Thank you for reading my post. Blessings to u!!!
