Let it go

How do you view yourself? Are you happy? Are you at peace with yourself? Or do you see yourself as a poor sinner that can’t ever seem to get it right? Do you lay your head down at night and think about all the things that you didn’t do right or that you should have done that day but didn’t? Do you feel that God is displeased with you? Do you feel like you just don’t measure up at times? Or do you see yourself as God truly sees you?

God loves you and He sees you as His child. He wants you to love yourself in a balanced way and not see yourself as the wrong that you do. That is the reason that He sent Jesus to die for you, so that your imperfections would be covered up by His perfection. The bible says that Jesus bore our guilt on the cross, therefore we no longer have to be filled with guilt and condemnation for our faults and mistakes. The bible also speaks over and over about the unconditional, unfailing love that God has toward us. It tells us that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Psalms 85:2 says that God forgave all of our guilt and covered all of our sins. If He has forgiven us and has no guilt towards us then why do we carry the guilt on ourselves? Guilt will do nothing to help us overcome our struggles or help us to see ourselves as God sees us. It actually holds us down and puts weight on our shoulders. Guilt is something that the enemy loves to use to keep us in bondage. He knows if we harbor guilt then we will never be free from what we feel guilty about.

JESUS has covered our sins and took our guilt for us so there is no need for us to hold onto our faults and failures. He had to cover our guilt because he knew that it would keep us from being all that we were created to be. He knew that by holding onto guilt we keep ourselves stuck so he told us that he has bore our guilt and gave us forgiveness. We are forgiven for all of our wrongs, our faults, and our failures. And if we are forgiven then there is nothing to feel guilty or condemned for.
