LIVE BY FAITH

Do you ever feel like something is missing but you just can’t put your finger on it? Do you feel like the presence of God has been absent in your life for some time now? Do you just feel blah? I have been dealing with such things off and on for awhile now and the Lord has been speaking to me lately about it.

When we are infants in our Christian walk we will have all the gooey emotions to go along with it. We may experience supernatural things that assure us of God and His presence. We will be lead to scripture that speaks to us about what we are dealing with in that moment. We may have a high on the joy and love that is in our hearts. We are so happy and peaceful because we have all the emotions that give us that feeling.

Then God says that it is time to grow up. It is time to strengthen your faith. It is time to walk with him without the emotions to go along with it. So all the sudden you do not feel His presence like you did. The joyful emotions are gone. The scriptures no longer speak to you like they once did. You feel a disconnection somewhere. You are still living like you were and doing the things that you had been doing but something just feels off. God is telling you that it is time to live by faith and not by feelings. He wants you to learn to walk by faith alone.

The bible tells us that we are to walk by faith and not by sight. We are to continue to walk even when we feel like we are walking alone. We are to continue to believe even when there is no evidence. We have to believe what the bible tells us despite our feelings. Having true faith is believing when there is no visual or emotional evidence and that is what God wants us to learn to do. He wants us to strengthen our faith.

Don’t think that God has left you or that you have done something wrong and God is punishing you. Strengthen your faith and know that He is with you even if you do not feel Him. Know that you are His child and everything that the bible says is true. Listen to your heart and not your head. Read scripture over and over until you get it ingrained in your heart. Do not live by your feelings, live by your faith.
