KEEP ON KEEPING ON

Matthew 7:7&8 tells us to keep on asking, seeking, and knocking, and it will be done for us. It tells us to keep praying about what we want or need and we will receive what we are praying for. It tells us to keep seeking and we will find. It tells us to keep knocking and the door will be opened for us. But it does not tell us how long we will have to pray, seek, or knock. It does not say to ask five times and it will be granted. It does not say to seek for a week and we will find what we are looking for. And it does not tell us to knock three times and the door will be opened.

We all tend to think that if we pray, our prayer should be answered immediately. We tend to think that we should not have to wait for what we need or what we want. We tend to think that if our prayer has not been answered quickly that it will not be answered. We tend to seek with our whole heart for a day or two but if we do not find what we are seeking, we think that we will not find it. And we tend to think that if we have been knocking at the door of an opportunity for two or three days and that door has not opened, then it will not open and we move on.

But these scriptures tell us to KEEP ON asking, KEEP ON seeking, and to KEEP ON knocking and it will happen. We have to keep our faith and continue to go after what it is that we want or need. We have to keep up the fight as I like to say. We may have to KEEP ON for a long time before we see it come to pass, but if we stay at it, it will happen. No matter what it is that you are praying for, that you are seeking, or the door at which you are knocking, the Lord knows when the timing is right and He will make it come at just the right time if we KEEP ON.

Don’t give up so easily when things are not working out. There may be things that you may need to learn, witness, or practice, before you can step into a new job postion. There may be things that your child needs to experience before they are delivered from something. There may be things that you need to go through to learn a valuable lesson before your troubles are taken care of. There are many reasons as to why we have to wait for what we are praying for, seeking, or a door to be opened. But God is faithful if we keep our faith and keep on keeping on.
