The reason for your problems

We all tend to get lost in this facade that we can live life without ever having any difficulties or problems. So when we do have them it is a shock to our belief system. We wonder why we have to endure some of the things that we do. We wonder why God would allow something so bad to happen to us. We wonder what we have done to deserve to be treated so badly by someone. We wonder how much more we can take. If we are not careful we can also fall into the trap of self pity, which only makes things worse. Life can be very complicated at times. God told us that in this life we will have trials and tribulations so I don’t know how we came to think that we can escape that truth. But there is a way that we can endure our difficulties and keep peace and joy in our heart. There is a way that our problems can work for the good of us. Let’s talk about a few factors for a minute.

The first and foremost thing that we need to acknowledge is the fact that no one will ever have a trouble or problem free life. Things will not always go our way. There are things and people that we have no control over. There will be situations that are beyond what we can do anything about. We will have to do things that we do not want to do sometimes. Not everyone or everything in life can or will be perfect. Things are going to happen in life. No matter how hard we try, we will all have to face uncomfortable, hard, unfortunate, and/or unfair things from time to time. But just because we may not enjoy the situation we can maintain our peace and our joy while we are going through it.

Our perspective on a situation can make all the difference on how difficult it is. If we view it as this horrible unfair thing, with all the ways that make it so horrible and unfair, we make ourselves feel even worse about it. If we only focus on the negative we blind ourselves from being able to see the positive. But if we open our mind to how God could possibly make good out of a bad situation we have hope to hang onto. By the way that we choose to view what we are facing we are able to either keep our joy in the midst of adversity or lose it. There is always a bigger reason as to why God allows hardship and troubles in our lives and keeping our attention on that will help us to endure.

Many times there are great lessons that we need to learn from the things that we face. Lessons that will make our future better. Lessons that will teach us how to navigate through life in a better way. Sometimes it is something that we need to learn about ourselves that may be keeping us from the best that God has for us. And sometimes God may be teaching us that we are much stronger and resilient than we think we are. He may need to teach us to have more trust in Him. The lesson that we may be able to learn from going through something extremely hard are many and when we are open to learning from them it makes the experience worth it.

God can work through the worst of situations and that is often times the only way that we successfully make it through it. He wants to show His power and His glory to the world through our problems. You see, everyone has problems. But it is only a believer that can have a problem turn into a blessing. When we know and trust that God will make something good out of our mess we are able to let His light shine in our darkness, knowing that we will come out on the other side better in some way.

There is no way that we can escape troubles, problems, hardships, or any other kind of adversity in this world. It will happen to each one of us at some point. But as a believer in Jesus we have someone to help us through them. We have the ultimate source of power working on our behalf to turn it around to our favor in some way. We may not be able to see it while we are in the midst of so much heartache or fustration and that is when we have to remind ourselves that God works all things out for the good of those who love Him. We get to have faith in someone other than ourselves to bring us through to the other side of things unharmed and a better person because of what we went through. So instead of looking at trials in a negative view, open your eyes to what is going on behind the scene and ask God to show you what He wants you to see or learn from this experience.
